At first, we thought that this would be a good thing. We get to
inform those above us what is wrong about our workplace, and that is nice, convenient venue in which to do
it. Unfortunately, there is evidence that the suggestion box creates the illusion that the worker
has some say over their issues in the workplace. Unfortunately, it is rare that
an issue addressed benefits the worker. If there were some
essential worker issues corrected as
a result of a suggestion the only ones that are corrected affect the bottom
line and are mostly minor investments that the casino should be making anyway in
order to keep from losing customers.
