MandalayBay and its management will twist the truth around in their
attempt to instill fear and confusion in us, this is what they do
best in order to stop us from uniting.
Within one month of
when the
Wynn policy was instituted, a Mandalay Bay's Management in one of our
pre shift meetings said: "
At this time we have no intentions of taking your tokes as Steve
Wynn did."
Key Words: "At this Time?" Tokes belong to Dealers, not
MandalayBay! We should be the ones determining what we do with our
money,
because they're our tokes.
Here is what was said to
dealers of Caesars Palace on October 19, 2007,
"We will not do what Steve Wynn did with the
Dealers tips" By the way we are very
proud of the Caesar's Palace Dealers , They took one giant step and
won!
Okay. That one sounds
better, but did you know that what follows is an excerpt from the Las Vegas Review Journal less
than one month later.
[Jan] Jones [vice president of government
relations] said Harrah's Entertainment does not now support the practice of sharing tokes, although she added that the dealers' actions could someday change that policy.
"However, if all of a sudden
we're in negotiations with an intermediary, you can't guarantee that
would be the policy because you have to be competitive in
negotiations,"
Jones said about tip sharing.
They will wait to see what
happens, then they will not do what Steve Wynn did straight away,
and then they will admit
to still holding the card and will try
to play it in negotiations. Which one is it? I think that
they are waiting to see if Steve Wynn wins his case in the Nevada Supreme court
come January 2008 and then they are going to follow suite.
They can
state a policy and do not have to stick with it, that is why every
day at the pre shift meeting they post up new memos . Read and
watch in those memos not always do they talk about everything that
is in those memos and that can change from day to day which is exactly why we need a
Contract.
