Fellow dealers WE ARE THE UNION. The TWU will not make
our decisions for us.
We will decide what issues are Important to us we will
elect a committee of dealers to represent us at the bargaining table. We
will vote as a collective unit. If we do not approve of what has been
negotiated we send them back to the table. We can go years with the
status quo. (nothing can be changed) But it would truly be in the
hotel's best interest to negotiate. The NLRB states they MUST negotiate
with us.
Mr. Wynn was found guilty of telling dealer's he would
never negotiate with them. NLRB has some very week law's but this is not
one of them.
 During this year, we have seen a transition from only the occasional
casino with Union membership to a wave of organization sweeping the casinos
from Atlantic City to Las Vegas. We will be keeping a
close eye on all of the upcoming elections.

Most of Atlantic City has either already voted in their unions or is
in the organizing process. Foxwoods, with our nation’s largest table games
department, will be getting their vote. In Las Vegas, it turns out
that it is the premier casinos whose dealers need Union protection
the most, for they have the most to lose without the power of a
Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This brings us to why we must Unite. For the
unlucky ones who did not get in years ago, housing costs have
skyrocketed, but our wages have been practically frozen. With no reprieve
in sight, we must step outside our comfort zone and do what’s right.
Have you ever had a player ask you about your Union and been
surprised that we do not have one? It seems obvious to them
that this is the type of job that needs one. It is true that
there is no better time than the present!
