The Vote may not have had the outcome that was expected but, guess what? TWU is here to Stay and there will be another time!!! So hang in there dealers we WILL get there!!
That's Right! After receiving Authorization Cards from an overwhelming majority of the Dealers at the Rio a petition was filed with the NLRB Tuesday June 3rd, 2008 for a Union Representation Election!
Rio Dealers, you have the support from all of the Dealers at Caesars Palace and The Wynn. And The Mandalay Bay Dealers Make sure you VOTE YES and join us in making history! They will be holding their vote July the 12th 2008 Wake Up ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WERE WE ROBBED?Voting was Held on 06-13-08 Isn't it ironic that the difference between the Yes and No was "13" votes 123 - 110 (on Friday the 13th) 13 POINT DIFFERENCE 4 CHALLENGES STILL NOT OPENED ON FRIDAY THE 13TH SPFPA TO FILE OBJECTIONS TO THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION, WITH AND AGAINST THE NLRB FOR NOT SEALING THE BALLOT BOX PROPERLY ON ALL SIDES. WHEN THEY LEFT WITH IT FOR 5 HOURS DESPITE THE UNIONS OBJECTION TO DO SO! WITH 125 BALLOTS CAST IN THE FIRST SESSION AT LEAST 5 BALLOTS WERE COMING OUT OF THE SIDES OF THE SEALED BOX! THE UNION DEMANDED THAT THE BALLOTS BOX BE SEALED ON ALL SIDES AND THE NLRB OBJECTED! DURING THE CLOSING SESSION THE NLRB AGENT MICHAEL J. JOHNSON NOW TAKES THE OPEN BALLOT BOX AND UNMARKED BALLOTS TO THE BATHROOM BY HIMSELF FOR FIVE MINUTES THEN RETURNS! YOU CONCLUDE WHAT COULD OF HAPPENED IN THE BATHROOM DURING THESE FIVE MINUTES AND DURING THE 5 HOURS WITH A IMPROPERLY UNSEALED BALLOT BOX WHERE BALLOTS COULD EASILY COME OUT FROM THE SIDES OF THE BOX! IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL A SECRET BALLOT ELECTION? The elections held at the Wynn and Caesars Palace for the dealers were held professionally. Nothing like what occurred at the Mandalay Bay . (Shame ,Shame) THE SPFPA AND THE CASINO SECURITY PROFESSIONALS WORKING FOR MANDALAY BAY ARE DEMANDING A RE-RUN FAIR ELECTION WITH SAFEGUARDS TO BE PUT IN PLACE! WE HOPE MANDALAY MANAGEMENT WILL NOT OBJECT TO A FAIR ELECTION Since Their attorneys and 2 observers Witnessed the UNSEALED BALLOT BOX and SPFPA's Demand to seal it. As well as the observers reports of the 5 minute bathroom ordeal! That especifically is why there should have been more than ONE National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) The SPFPA is not implying that the NLRB or Michael J. Johnson of switching any of the ballots during the 5 hours when this ballot box was in his sole possession and when he left with the unsealed ballot box and blank ballots to the bathroom for 5 minutes we are only implying that the above actions by Michael J. Johnson of NOT properly sealing the ballot box and leaving with the unsealed ballot box and blank ballots to the bathroom for 5 minutes raises many unanswered questions on the conduct of a FAIR ELECTION! Latest on Steve Wynn Court Date The Nevada Supreme Court appeal of the Wynn Dealer's case will be argued on 4/7/08 11 a.m. It is hoped a favorable decision for the dealers will be issued shortly after that date. Courage The Wynn dealers have been very courageous going against management while working in the best job in town. Many of us at the Mirage felt rejected when we weren't chosen to go to the Bellagio. And rejected again when so many were ignored after applying at the Wynn. To see dealers with the best job in town stand up for themselves ... and win ... gives many of us the courage we need to stand up for ourselves too.
Caesar's Palace Dealers are strong, and
determined not to be bullied. This is a great opportunity for us to have representation. This Union drive is not anything against our Supervisors, Pit Managers or our beloved MandalayBay. Some are very nice people, and we enjoy working with them. Much like a nice player who enjoys their time with us, wins big and does not tip, their "being nice" does not pay our bills. This is not anything personal. This is about our job security.
Contract and Security
A Union brings democracy into our jobs. We live in a democracy, but we work under a dictatorship. We would prefer to have a democracy in both aspects of our lives.
We need representation.
